How to Spend the Best 3 Days in Orlando

Located in Central Florida, Orlando is home to a variety of attractions, including theme parks, water parks, and golf courses. Visitors can enjoy plenty of sunshine and warm weather all year round. Orlando is also a convenient destination, with a major airport and various hotels and resorts to choose from. With countless options for activities, it can be tough to narrow down what to do in Orlando if you have a limited time to stay. Here are some ideas for how to spend the best three days in Orlando.

Day 1:

Start your trip at one of Orlando’s world-famous theme parks because no Orlando visit is complete without going for some theme-park adventure. Spend the day exploring the rides, shows, and attractions that each park has to offer. Be sure to take advantage of FastPass+ or Express Pass options to avoid long lines. Wondering which park to visit? Here are some of our top picks:

  • Walt Disney World Resort: This is a must for any first-time Orlando visitor. With four theme parks, two water parks, and dozens of hotels and resorts to choose from, you can easily spend several days here and still not see everything.
  • Universal Orlando Resort: This resort is home to two theme parks, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, as well as the CityWalk entertainment complex. Popular attractions include The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, and The Incredible Hulk Coaster.
  • SeaWorld Orlando: SeaWorld is perfect for animal lovers and thrill-seekers alike. In addition to rides and shows featuring dolphins, whales, sea lions, and other aquatic animals, the park also has several roller coasters, including the Mako and Manta.

After a full day of exploring, head back to your hotel for a relaxing evening. If you’re looking for something to do, many hotels in the Orlando area offer evening entertainment options, such as live music or movie screenings by the pool.

Day 2:

Get up early and head over to one of Orlando’s many water parks. Water parks are a great way to beat the heat and have fun with slides, pools, and lazy rivers. Some of our favorites include:

  • Typhoon Lagoon at Walt Disney World Resort: This water park features one of the world’s largest outdoor wave pools, as well as a lazy river and several slides.
  • Aquatica Orlando: This water park has something for everyone, with a variety of slides, a lazy river, and a kids’ play area. Animal lovers will also enjoy seeing dolphins and other aquatic animals.
  • Blizzard Beach at Walt Disney World Resort: This water park is perfect for snow lovers who want to enjoy the Florida sunshine. The park features slopes and trails for inner tubing, a lazy river and several slides.

After a day of splashing around, dry off and prepare for an evening out on the town. Orlando is home to many restaurants, bars, and clubs, so you’re sure to find something to suit your taste. Check out House of Blues or the Hard Rock Cafe if you’re looking for live music. Or, if you’d prefer to hit the dance floor, head to one of Orlando’s popular nightclubs, such as Wall Street Plaza or Vain Nightclub.

Day 3:

Rounding out your trip with a round of golf is the perfect way to take advantage of Orlando’s sunny weather. With more than 170 courses in the area, you’ll have no trouble finding a tee time. If you’re looking for a challenge, try one of Orlando’s championship courses, such as Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club or Jack Nicklaus’ Grand Cypress Golf Club. Or, if you’re just looking to have some fun, head to one of the area’s many mini golf courses.

After a day on the links, enjoy a leisurely dinner at one of Orlando’s many restaurants. If you’re hoping to catch a show, be sure to check out the listings at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater or the Mad Cow Theater. Or, if you’re looking for some laughs, try improv comedy at SAK Comedy Lab.

Orlando is an ideal destination for a three-day getaway. You’ll have no trouble filling your days with so much to see and do. Be sure to take advantage of the many opportunities the area has to offer, and you’re sure to create memories that will last a lifetime.
